Apparently Seattle PD has unmarked Chargers on stock wheels and tires with no visible lights or push bars... doing traffic stops and sitting around with radar guns. Lovely.

Like this, but with the ability to take your rent money at any time, with no warning whatsoever.

Is it a rental car? Is it an old lady? Or is it the Albanian Rozzers... YOULL NEVER KNOW.

could be worse, I see a Charger and slow down anyways. In New Haven I got pulled over by a green Lexus SC once, and I saw a yellow tercel hatchback pulling someone over once on 95. Troop E up in Montville ran a fix body mustang until a few years ago, white one you would never think was the fuzz

I don't know to be honest, I've been rocking out the same shitty $100 one since I was 16 (9 years) … but even that one has saved my ass more times than I care to count.

But I trust Farah's reviews and he has this to say (skip to 3:20 if kinja doesn't do it for you) ….

I use a Whistler XTR-558 (because my car is not fast enough to warrant the cost of a V1). Admittedly, it gives a lot of false warnings (but after a while, it becomes easy to tell the difference between a garage door and a speed trap). However it has never let me down with spotting cops. Usually gives a good quarter to half mile warning. One time I got a mile, but that was in rural Iowa.

But really though, I'm never going to not have a radar detector in my life. The way I see it, if it saves you from one ticket it already payed for itself …. like I've said, mines saved me more times than I care to count.

Yup. They're all blacked out with light bars hiding low against the windshield. They're actually really easy to spot because no one mods a Camry.

Oh yeah ok see that I can deal with. This was completely stock, they worked hard on it. No tinted windows, stock wheels and tires, the lights were inside the stock head and tail light lenses, the license plate frame lights, the corner of the windows. Trying really hard to look like a rental car.

I think here is Michigan it is illegal to have unmarked cars for patrol use. IE cant give out tickets.
